Cleaning quote calculator: per room and per hour
Count the rooms, pick the clean and the frequency. Get a price that pays your wage, covers supplies and travel, and still hits your margin after the regular-client discount.
Do this for every clean. The Cleaning Business Quote Calculator & Profit Tracker quotes this way, logs every clean, and shows profit per person-hour for every client.

A flat hourly rate undercharges big homes and a flat per-room rate undercharges dirty ones. This calculator does both: rooms set the time, your costs set the price.
1. Rooms become minutes
Each room type has a standard-clean time: 20 minutes per bedroom, 30 per bathroom, 35 per kitchen, 20 per living or dining area, 10 per laundry and per hallway. The clean type multiplies room time: 1.7× for a deep clean, 2.2× for end of lease, 1.15× for a short-stay turnover, 2.5× for post-construction. Extras add fixed minutes and supplies (45 minutes for an oven, 25 for a fridge, 30 per room of carpet steam). Condition then multiplies the whole lot: 0.9× tidy up to 1.6× very dirty.
2. Person-hours, not clock hours
The total is person-hours. Two cleaners on a 6 person-hour job are on site for 3 hours, but you still pay 6 hours of wages. Wages and supplies are charged per person-hour, travel per km or mile.
3. Price that survives the discount
Price = cost ÷ (1 − margin), worked out to the cent so the margin you set is the margin you get. The list price is grossed up by the frequency discount, so a fortnightly client on 10% off still pays your full margin. The minimum job applies after the discount: the price never drops below it.
4. The numbers that tell you if a client is worth it
Profit per person-hour is what each hour of cleaning earns the business after wages. Price per person-hour is your effective hourly rate, so you compare a per-room quote with an hourly quote in one glance. Monthly revenue shows what a regular client is worth.
Enter every cost and price ex GST. The GST switch shows prices, fees and takings with or without GST; costs and profit always stay ex GST. Set the rate to 0 if you are not registered.
Swap in your own wage, supplies and margin; everything recalculates as you type. The workbook lets you edit every room time, multiplier and extra.
